Privacy

This page describes, in plain terms, what this website does and does not do with information about you. It describes the site as built; if that changes, this page will change with it.

What the site collects

The pages themselves collect nothing. There is no account system, no comment form, no newsletter signup and no contact form. The site does not load analytics, advertising, tracking or social-media scripts, and it does not load fonts, scripts or images from any other organisation, so visiting a page does not send your details to a third party through the page itself.

The assessment and the record explainer

The email security assessment and the record explainer run entirely in your browser. The answers you select and any DNS record text you paste are processed by code on the page and are not sent anywhere. They are not stored in your browser either: no cookies, local storage or other persistent storage is used for them, so closing or reloading the page clears them. The copyable summary is generated on your device and leaves only if you choose to copy it somewhere yourself. Please paste only public DNS record text into the explainer, never anything secret.

What the server does

Like any web server, the one that delivers this site is expected to record standard technical information about each request, such as the network address, the time, the page requested and the browser type, to operate and defend the service. The site may also sit behind a network or security service that handles requests on its way to the server, and such a service performs similar processing. How long those logs are kept and who can see them are decided by the hosting configuration, and this page does not describe them in more detail than that because it cannot do so truthfully without checking the live arrangement.

Cookies

The site itself sets no cookies for ordinary visitors. A security or delivery service in front of the site may set its own technical cookies; if so they exist to operate that service, not to identify you for advertising.

If you contact us

If a direct contact address is published on the contact page and you write to it, we receive whatever you send, including your email address, and we will use it to reply. Please follow the guidance there about what never to send. We do not sell or share messages received this way.

Your choices

You can use everything on the site without giving any information. If you have a question about this page, the contact page explains whether a direct channel is open.
